• Streaming Media: Sigpro developed an architecture for adding streamed media subnet capabilities for a set-top box provider. Our scope of work included modeling, analysis, and extensive testing of major new home networking standards (HPNA, HomePlug, 802.11a, 802.11b) for throughput, loss, QoS, environmental interference, sensitivity to transmitter/ receiver placement, etc., and producing recommendations and designs based on findings.
  
  
• Wireless Access Points: Sigpro is experienced in creating 802.11a system architectures and associated engineering roadmaps for integrating high-throughput, wireless access into low-cost consumer devices. These include unique applications for voice and video on these traditionally data-centered devices.
  
  
• Residential Broadband: Sigpro has been an integral partner of customers developing next generation broadband services and devices.
  
  Sample engagements include:

• Developed key components of the baseband radio for a fixed wireless (BWIF compliant) processing module for a new communications ASIC.
  
  
• Provided conformance test support for CableLabs' DOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols for a leading cable modem manufacturer.
  
  
• Integrated DSL components into consumer electronic devices, including analysis of equalizer performance trade-offs in DSL modems for an international telecommunications company.

• Residential Gateways: Sigpro designed system architectures that integrate bridge, gateway, router and access point functions into simple "appliances" such as set-top boxes, in such a way that the user requires little to no additional expertise.
